Jungle Cruise, starring Emily Blunt, Dwayne Johnson, and Jack Whitehall, is an action-adventure comedy that was released in late July of 2021. The movie itself is based on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disney. Jungle Cruise follows the story of Lily Hughton, a brilliant and adventurous scientist, on her journey to recover the tears of the moon--a tree where a special flower grows. She travels with her brother McGregor (Whitehall) and their Fairman Frank (Johnson) across the Amazon in Frank's boat “La Quila.”
Along the way, they face many challenges and face down those who want to use the tears of the moon to turn the tides of the world to war instead of for good.
I really enjoyed Jungle Cruise; the action and adventure mixed well with the story, and it didn't feel as though the action got in the way of the story. Everything felt very natural, from the reactions to the interactions they had with each other. The backgrounds for each character were amazing and each sets up their respective reasons for being there in the first place.
The cinematography of the movie was incredible, and the CGI never ceased to amaze me! The jungle around the characters and the charter boat looks absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail is astonishing. The costumes for the characters are amazing and make sense for the action that each character does. There are many hilarious scenes and many scenes that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Overall, I would highly recommend watching this movie!
