With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, sometimes guys need a push in the right direction when it comes to gifts. If you are looking for some universal ideas besides just plain old candy, we are here to help.

Flowers
Honestly, this one should be a given. Flowers are a classic. If you are overwhelmed by the options, try to stick to the most natural-looking bouquets: pink and red roses or carnations are usually a good go-to. Target is a good place to buy flowers, they have a lot of good options with a wide range of prices. Make sure to buy flowers the day before or the day of Valentine’s Day so they are fresh! If you are feeling up for it, you can make your own bouquet by buying roses and baby's breath, as shown in the picture on the left. You can wrap it with paper and tie it off with some ribbon!
Starbucks
If you have been shopping with your girlfriend before, I am sure she has asked you to stop at Starbucks while shopping. Almost all girls love Starbucks drinks and it can be an easy way to make your girl happy. Also, if you aren’t dating her yet, it can be an easy way to show you like and appreciate her. You can easily make the drink more romantic by writing something on the cup before giving it to her. However, I’m sure many guys don’t know what to order or what to get their girlfriends from there. I have a few ideas for those struggling:

Hand-Written Letters
AKA love letters. This is a good one for boyfriends in particular. Writing a letter is a great way to express your feelings towards your partner, even if it’s just written on a piece of loose-leaf paper, it means a lot to a girl. You could buy a card to write in, but it is more the content written inside that matters most.
Jewelry
When it comes to jewelry, guys need to be careful. You need to know whether she wears gold or silver, and try to stick simple pieces. Stay away from chunky necklaces and big hearts. Dainty jewelry is probably your best bet. TJ Maxx has cute affordable jewelry options.

Stuffed Animals
Stuffed animals may seem childish or pointless to guys, but girls love them, especially if they are from the guy they like. Now, some stuffed animals are not the best, but there are many options that your girl will love. Stuffed animals can get expensive, so keep that in mind if you shop for them. Stuffed animals are usually kept on a bed, so when your girlfriend goes into her room, she will be reminded that you love and appreciate her. Some good ones to get are Jellycats, Squishmallows, and weighted stuffed animals!
