Summer Films to Keep an Eye out for

If you can believe it—I know I can’t—summer is right around the corner. That means we’re all going to be having a more open schedule where we can probably squeeze in a movie or two. It can sometimes be hard to know which movies are good to watch or are worth your money, but luckily, that’s what I’m here for—to give you the right recommendations and make sure your money goes to the right place.

Jurassic World Dominion- June 10th, 2022

What would you do if the world as you knew it became infested with dinosaurs? That’s what the new Jurassic World movie attempts to answer by showing what that type of balance between the two species would look like. Not only that, this movie promises to bring back the original actors from Jurassic Park. Advertising it as the final movie in the grand scheme of the Jurassic series is a lot of weight to put on one movie’s shoulders, but I’m excited to see what’ll happen. Be sure to see this movie in theatres on June 10th.

Lightyear- June 17th, 2022

Lightyear is the latest Pixar venture that’s coming out this year, and it’s very different from their usual type of movies. This film recounts the legend of the “true” story of Buzz Lightyear as he explores alien planets and fights against the evil emperor Zurg. The animation in this movie looks especially realistic, and the whole movie certainly looks like a great action movie helmed by Chris Evans in the titular role. The movie blasts off this June 17th.

Elvis- June 24th, 2022

Elvis is a biopic centered on the titular king of rock and roll featuring young star Austin Butler playing the esteemed role. The movie hopes to follow the story of Elvis’s life and his experiences as this almighty figure. We’ll see how Elvis handled real-world problems and how he butted heads with his manager, Colonel Tom Park, played by Tom Hanks. The movie comes out June 24th, 2022, so be sure to check it out once it releases.

Thor: Love and Thunder- July 8th, 2022.

The next movie in the MCU is directed by Taiki Waititi who previously worked on Thor: Ragnarok. The movie has a lot of charm and features returning actor Chris Hemsworth helming the title of Thor once again. Although if the trailers are anything to go by, there seems to be a new Thor in town played by Natalie Portman. Thor will need all the help he can get against the evil threat of Gorr the God Butcher played by Christian Bale. This movie looks like a blast, and I can’t wait to see it when it comes out this July 8th, 2022.
