Two years ago, I traveled to Malaga, Spain, and it was the best trip of my life. I have traveled all over the world and have been to ten different countries, and no other country has come close to Spain.

What Is So Special About Malaga
Most people think of Barcelona and Madrid when someone mentions Spain, which don’t get me wrong, they are amazing cities, but Malaga and southern Spain as a whole are breathtaking.
Malaga is located on the southern tip of Spain, near the strait of Gibraltar, the waterway between Europe and Africa. Malaga has beautiful beaches and mountains on the other side. In the center of the city is the Castle Gibralfaro. The city is filled with gelato shops, steak houses, beach side restaurants, and outdoor shopping. Everything is very cheap too.
Perfect Climate
Like I said, on one side you have the Mediterranean, and the other side you have views of the Penibaetic Mountains. In the winter the weather rarely dips below 63° F. When I was there in March of 2023, it was about 80° F every day. It was perfect weather for hitting the beach, hiking, visiting historical landmarks, and shopping.

Exciting Activities
Malaga and the nearby area has a lot of unique activities. My family visited castles in the nearby town of Grenada. We hiked up the sand dunes of Bolonia, which was about an hour drive from Malaga, and my favorite part of the trip. One day, we took a day trip to Gibraltar, which is an English territory in the country, so everyone spoke English there and had British accents which was fun.
Overall, Malaga is a lively and gorgeous place. The people are so welcoming to tourists (unlike a lot of other places in Europe), your spanish will improve quickly, the food is amazing, and the views are unlike any other.
