2023 Movie recommendations
As a person who loves movies, it can be hard to find a new one to watch when you feel like you’ve seen them all. Lucky for you, I’m about to give you five movies that you might want to add to your watch list!
A newly released rom-com, “Anyone but You” will have you obsessed. Bea and Ben end up stuck together in Australia at a friend's destination wedding a year after their initial relationship turned cynical. “Anyone but you” is an all-time favorite of mine! I absolutely loved the storyline behind this movie and the perfect and exciting ending. This movie will also create a new obsession with the song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. You might as well just add it to your playlist now!
The new movie, “Saltburn” has become a very popular controversial topic on many social media platforms. Oliver gets invited to an estate by his rich classmate, Felix. Soon after, Felix experiences a series of horrifying events when Oliver turns psychotic. “Saltburn” is supposed to be a thriller but to me, it was more disturbing than anything else. I would not recommend this movie unless you want to be sleeping with a nightlight on and one eye open.
“Barbie” was a super popular movie that most girls loved and most guys hated. Barbie is used to the perfect world of Barbies. When Barbie starts to develop insecurities she must go to the real world to get back to her old happy self. Barbie soon discovers that the real world isn’t what she thought it would be. The message behind this movie was powerful and it made me think a lot about the way of the world. I thought this movie was comedic, exciting, and heart-shattering all at the same time. It was the perfect mix of every emotion and I one-hundred percent recommend watching this movie.
“No Hard Feelings” was one of my favorites from 2023. A thirty-year-old woman needs money to pay her bills and not lose her house. She then finds an ad posted stating that if someone will date their nerdy teen son, they in return, will give them a car. She takes the job and of course, this wouldn’t be a romance movie without them ending up falling for each other. This movie was a rom-com that had everyone in the theater laughing aloud. I would definitely recommend it!
“Five Nights at Freddy’s” is a movie where you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I thought it was really good. In this movie, a security guard gets hired to work at Freddy’s which he later finds out is a killing ground. He then has to fight to protect himself and save the souls that live within Freddy’s. This movie was a strange one but a good one. If you like horror movies, this is the one for you!
